Adaptica – Binocular Visual Analyzer – Kaleidos

The most reliable device to detect refractive errors and vision problems, while allowing for the exam to be performed in a natural, fun and independent way.
Kaleidos is a mobile binocular refractometer and vision analyzer that measures both eyes at the same time, in real life vision conditions. It incorporates the best and most complete technologies, in order to fully detect refractive errors, eye abnormalities and vision problems by measuring objective refraction in the range of -15D to +15D, and dynamic pupil response to programmable light stimulations, just by looking for a few seconds into this responsive instruments.

Benefits of the KALEIDOS

The KALEIDOS may be integrated with the Vision Fit Adaptive Optics Refraction System to provide the most advanced mobile refraction process available today. This system is light, wireless, and easy to transport, as well as set up, for remote applications and screenings. The system can operate in very small areas (refracting distance as short as 1 meter) which allows for unlimited flexibility for providing objective and subjective refractive exams.

Quick and objective measurement of binocular refraction
Precise and objective measurements of ocular alignment
Detection of the major amblyogenic factors such as anisometropia, anisocoria, media opacities, etc.
Over-refraction with both spectacles and contact lenses
Objective measurement of dynamic pupillometry
Portable

The Kaleidos doesn’t only measure myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, but it also provides early detection and diagnosis of phorias, tropias, and other amblyogenic factors; while also producing evidence of sight anomalies related to anisometropia, anisocoria, strabismus, and phorias.

With the 2WINNY mask, pediatric eye examination becomes an adventure.

Eccentric Photo-Retinoscopy

The KALEIDOS measurement principle is eccentric photo-retinoscopy. Infrared (IR) light is projected through the patient’s pupils and onto the retina. Depending upon the refractive error, the reflected light forms a specific crescent-shaped brightness pattern within the pupil.

The KALEIDOS measures spherical power, cylinder power, and axis by interpreting the reflected light crescent pattern and position. The 2WIN infrared exam also provides valuable information about corneal abnormalities as well as ocular media opacities such as cataracts.

Binocular / Monocular Refraction in a light controlled environment

The KALEIDOS can be used in a light controlled environment, eliminating distractions while fixing the distance for measurement. In this pairing, the instrument can be used for rapid walk-up screenings in any light conditions.

Non-invasive and fully automated, KALEIDOS reduces pretest time from several minutes to just seconds; making it ideal and convenient for all kinds of patients, while giving the operator more freedom on the layout and size of the pretest room.

Screening Report

With the 2Win, the customer can complete an objective assessment of the visual function in natural vision conditions. It is ideal for infants, children, the handicapped, and non-cooperative patients, due to the 2WIN’s small footprint and reduced exam time.

Connect to IR Printer

KALEIDOS measurements can be stored and printed. The exams are stored internally in a micro-SD card using a PDF format, which is capable of storing 1,000+ results.

Equipped with the latest technology, the Kaleidos is operated from an IPad that connects to the device through WIFI. With the application, operators can perform and adjust each screen to the specifications of the patient (such as their age). The results of the screenings are instantly sent to the IPad, from where they can be sent electronically to doctors anywhere around the globe, or can be analyzed on the Ipad itself. The product’s compatibility with the IPad makes performing screenings and analyzing results more efficient and simple, allowing for any medical assistant to operate the device through its user friendly application.

WIFI

The KALEIDOS built-in WiFi connects seamlessly to the internet, making it possible to share results and diagnostics via email. The KALEIDOS utilized its WiFi capability to connect directly to the VisionFit.
